Data

Turn unstructured documents into structured, queryable data with AI-powered extraction.

A lot of useful information is locked inside documents — invoices, receipts, contracts, reports. AltStudio's document-to-data feature pulls that information out for you: you describe the fields you care about, and AI extracts them from each document into clean, structured rows you can review, query, and export.

When to use it

Reach for data extraction when you have many documents that share a shape and you want the values out of them rather than the prose. A stack of invoices becomes a table of vendors, amounts, and dates. A folder of contracts becomes rows of parties, terms, and renewal dates.

It's the right tool when:

  • The documents are repetitive and structured (forms, statements, records).
  • You want the result as data — to sort, filter, total, or feed elsewhere.
  • Accuracy matters enough that you want to review uncertain extractions.

How it works

You build a pipeline: define a schema of the fields to extract, upload your documents, and let AltStudio process them. Each document is read, the fields are extracted, and anything the AI is unsure about is flagged for your review. When you're happy, export the structured data as CSV, JSON, or Excel.

A pipeline is reusable. Define the schema once for a document type and run every new batch through it — the Template Library even has pre-built schemas for common types like invoices and receipts.
