Knowledge & context

Knowledge & context

The store of everything AltStudio can draw on — documents, reference files, transcripts, and your brand and business context — so outputs are grounded in your material.

Your knowledge store is everything AltStudio can draw on. It's what makes the difference between a generic AI answer and one grounded in your material — your documents, your prior work, your brand, your business.

Anything in the store can be referenced in two places:

  • In a conversation — mention or attach knowledge so Alto reasons from it.
  • On the canvas — attach knowledge to a node so a step works from it.

What lives here

KindWhat it is
DocumentsFiles you upload — PDFs, Word docs, spreadsheets, text, Markdown, images.
Reference filesStandalone documents that live in the store, including ones agents author.
TranscriptsMeeting and call transcripts brought in from connected sources.
BrandLogos, colors, and fonts used to style generated documents and decks.
Business contextFacts about your organization that shape the tone and framing of work.

Knowledge is organized by project, so you can scope what Alto and agents draw on to the work at hand instead of your whole workspace.

Beyond the raw material, AltStudio also builds a structured knowledge graph — the people, companies, and topics in your material and how they connect, with a full audit trail of where each fact came from. See the knowledge graph.

Why it matters

Grounding work in your knowledge store has compounding benefits. Outputs cite real source material rather than guessing, generated documents and decks come out on-brand, and agents working in the background have the same context you do. The more you keep in the store, the more capable everything else becomes.
